PPF - Trees in Watercolor, ACEO size

Cut, cut, cut.

Sometimes I don't like a painting very much, and if it happens to be watercolor, I can cut it into little ACEO/ATC cards - little gems that I find in the bigger piece of art.  Here is one of those 9x12 watercolors that I did not like.

And here are some of the ATC cards I found in it

I know it drives my WC teacher crazy when I do this, but I find it freeing.  Letting go of something that is not quite right, and finding a repurpose for it.  Feels exhilarating.

I will be trading these on atcsforall.com in a watercolor swap.  I enjoy trading with other artists.  My collection is huge!

Paint Party Friday: A Donkey

Well, I only got one June guy done, and then I had a bunch of animals to do, so I did not get any more finished, but here is "Donkey."  He is being donated to the auction at the Pasadena Chalk Festival. If you happen to live in Pasadena, there will be lots of 12 x 12 paintings starting at $20 and great chalk art.  My daughter and her family do at least two squares every year!  http://www.pasadenachalkfestival.com/

I am also working on a horse in watercolor and
I finished Dr. Dre, a goat, for another charity auction.

9 x 12 Acrylic on Canvas board: "Dr Dre" (now Dr. McGuffin) is a 3 year old Nigerian Dwarf wether, as friendly and social as he is beautiful. A former resident at New Moon Farm goat Rescue in Monroe, Washington. He has found his forever home!

Don't miss the Goatalympics!!! The Goatalympics is not your typical livestock event! Rather than focus on conformation and production, as seen at a typical County Fair, the Goatalympics is all about having fun with pet goats. It’s a chance for people to show off their ruminants’ skills, with events ranging from obstacle courses and races to costume and stall decorating contests. In addition to the goat contests, there will be a mega-raffle, a silent auction and educational materials about goats. Of course, there will be adorable, adoptable goats for people to meet. Though only in it’s third year, we expect the 2013 Goatalympics to be bigger and better than ever! Visit goatalympics.org for more info.

"As a 501(c)3 organization, New Moon Farm receives no state or federal funding. Our work is supported solely by individual donors like you. And every little bit helps. It costs approximately $25 a month to provide the basic care of hay, grain, bedding, vaccinations, deworming, and hoof care for one goat. For goats who come to us with injuries or health problems that require veterinary care, the cost increases significantly. Add to that cost of maintaining the facilities, property taxes, and insurance. As a nonprofit, New Moon Farm relies on the tax-deductible monetary and in-kind donations of our supporters for everything. From deworming medications to hoof trimmers, from treats to blankets, from manure rakes to wheelbarrows, we simply cannot do the work that we do without your help."

Paint Party Friday: Winner of Geraniums PPF

What an experience!  The blog drawing was fun, 15 people entered and left comments.  But the rafflecopter program does not work!  So I had to do it the old fashioned way, drawing the name out of a hat!  Anyway, it was a learning experience for sure.

And the winner of the Geranium painting is:
Milo Wylde Chin of Sunnyvale, California.

And this week I am working on finishing a painting of a goat, Dr. Dre, which I am donating to New Moon Farm in Monroe, WA, for their annual fund Raiser, GoatAlympics.  I hope they get lots of $$ at their auction.

I will post the finished painting next week.  It is almost done, but I like to let it sit overnight and do final touchups at the end.

Happy Paint Party Friday, Everyone!

June Guys, Face #1, Watercolor and Pen "Man with a Red Tie"

"Man with a Red Tie"
This ACEO is 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size
The old man has a solemn expression, and is a bit melancholy, I think.  But his bright clothes and reddish hair reveal his whimsical side.

I am doing one face a day during the month of June 2013 for June Guys, a challenge in 29 Faces group on Facebook.  This is #1 for this year.  I did it last year, too!  Great exercise and discipline.  This is also my Paint Party Friday submission.  And my rooster is up there having been chosen by the random generator!

More doodle art ACEO cards.

For sale in my Ebay store It seems to be working, doodling and lettering every day, and my Mojo has returned!
