ACEO Size: Miniature Masterpiece

ACEO, inspired by and in the style of French artist Paul Gauguin in 1891 when he left his young family to sail to the South Seas to escape debt and discover a simpler life in Mataiea, Tahiti. Acrylic on heavy paper. This is my original painted art, not a print. Comes with a free mat and backing board, so you can put it into your 5x7 frame and hang it on your wall.

Start your own Mini Art Gallery with my tiny Fine Art Paintings of the Masters. Great conversation starter! Lovely gifts for your art collector friends. Frame one for a housewarming gift.

ACEO refers to the size - 2½” x 3½” - also called an ATC or artist’s trading card. Signed by artist with complete contact info on back - comes in a protective sleeve.  The photo looks bigger, but it is truly the size of a baseball card. Original, not a copy, painted with acrylic on heavy paper.

NOTE: Artists have long been copying the masters to learn the art form. I am attempting to make tiny replicas of the actual paintings that I like, which I discover in books or online, but I certainly do not try to pass them off as the "real" thing, since my art (ACEO) is only 2.5 x 3.5 inches. As I am studying the master's works, I gain a real appreciation of each one. They painted in oils, and I use acrylic. As I find a painting that I want to reproduce, I read about the artist, his life, and his methods of creating art. I choose colors that are close to the original and sketch freehand my "version" of it.

This is my entry for Nibblefest Art Contest, a themed art contest beginning on the 20th of each month. Please be sure to search for NFAC to see more great entries, each starting at just $0.99. Thanks! This month's theme is Nipplefest.
