In the style of .. . ACEOs for PPF

My new Series: "In the Style of .. . . "
Acrylic ACEOs, 2.5 x 3.5 inches

Madonna of the Apple Tree in the Style of Lucas Cranach

Woman with a Fan in the style of Picasso Cubism Abstract

Impressionism Flower Garden

Camille in a Garden In the Style of Monet

These two, above, have been sold, so maybe my ACEO Miniature Masters series will be a success!

My daughter gave me a book of The Masters with bios and examples of their work. It sure is teaching me a lot about famous artists and their various styles. I find a new appreciation for the painter when I try to duplicate the artwork. Of course, my tiny paintings are in no way a duplicate of the "real" masterpiece, or even a tiny portion of it, but I think I have been able to capture the color scheme and general "feel" of the original, so I hope in some small way I have succeeded. This is one project where I will never run out of ideas or inspiration. I like to read about the artists and their lives as I am working on the minis. I admit I know next to nothing about them when I begin, and for me this is an art education with personal experience and hands on learning. Better than a college course!

  2. Beautiful job - especially that "Picasso"! I love reading about great artists too - I've been getting books out of the library whenever I go. Happy PPF!

    1. Thanks, Deepa. The hardest part is deciding what to paint next, so much to choose from.

  5. Great idea, and I love your resulting ACEOs.
They are very detailed for such a small size.

  6. what a great idea, and really wonderful in the style of paintings on your ACEO cards. Where do you sell them. I made some a few years ago, but didn't know what to do with them.
