Sold!  This one is gone, so maybe I better start working on a series of people.  I think Daily Paint Works is a great site for selling art!  It combines Etsy and Ebay and gives you a place to keep track of your sales, customers, and all of your art.  

Artomat Vending machines for Art: Zen Doodles?

Remember cigarette machines?  Well, they have turned them into Art Dispensers.  There are over 100 around the country now and 400 artists are contributing.  So I just have to do this!

I have received my prototype kit from Artomat.org and am working on my sample to send them.  There is no real money to be made doing this, but it looks like fun and a great way to get more exposure as an artist.  Besides, I love a challenge, and making 50 of these at a time might be challenging.  I think I am going to do Zen Doodles (see sample) which I find very relaxing and fun to create.  If you want to know more about this fun art form, search for Zen Doodles, Zentangle, Zendala, etc.  Watch out because it is addictive.  The ones below are ATC size, but any size is acceptable.  It's a doodle, after all.

12 days of Christmas Challenge

So here are my 3 entries to the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge on Daily Paint Works.  I do love challenges! So far I have managed to get in 5 out of the 12, but I don't know if I will try for the rest of them.  We shall see . . .

Zentangle, White on Black, ACEO, ATC Challenge

This is a new one - a Zentangle Challenge.  New to me anyway.  I guess it is #100 for the site.  I used to do these a lot, because they are very ZEN and relaxing, but got away from it for a couple of years.  This weekly challenge inspired me to do some more.  Usually they are done with black pen on white paper, but, just to be different,  I used an acid free black mat board, cut to ATC/ACEO size, and an old fashioned ink pen dipped into white acrylic ink.  Not as dependable as a fine point marker, but when it created a blob, I just worked it into the design.  It's supposed to represent a form of dance, and I chose Rock and Roll.

Not a Nibblefest entry, but still Mushrooms!

"Trois Champignons" or Three Mushrooms. This little painting ATC/ACEO was done for the Nibblefest Art Contest, but I can only submit 3 and I made 5, so I am listing it early and letting you know there will be more . . . you know how mushrooms multiply overnight, right? One day there were no mushrooms in my yard, and the next day they just appeared, suddenly, out of nowhere, like magic. Not that they are magic mushrooms, but they do appear sort of mysterious, don't they?

Original hand painted art - not a print. On heavy paper. ACEO refers to the size - 2½” x 3½” - also called an ATC or artist’s trading card. Signed by artist. Complete contact info on back - comes in a protective sleeve.

Sold a Desert Sunset Saw Painting on Etsy

So, I have had my painted saws on Etsy for how many years and never sold one online? And yesterday I got an order for one of them to be shipped to Ridgecrest, just as I was thinking of taking them down. It sold for $150 plus shipping. Now if the other 20 would sell we would be in business! UPS packaged it, insured it, and sent it off for about what I charged for the shipping, and it should be there tomorrow. Wow! Merry Christmas to me. Sometimes it is nice to have confirmation that you are on the right path.

Slovakia: Dec Virtual Paint Out: Trash Collection

I just submitted my second painting for the Virtual Paint Out - This time it's December and we are in Slovakia.  You get to go to Google and travel around the world, virtually, and paint a picture from the images you find.  

 Find all the rules etc on their blog and facebook pages.  It's really great to see all the different views that people have painted and drawn.  Last month I did laundry on the line, today it's garbage cans or rather recycle bins and trash cans. 

I used 200# rough watercolor paper and did it in watercolor (and pen for the lettering).

Wow!  My entry in the Grumbacher Fan Page 11th ATC contest was one of the winners.  The cards are 2.5 x 3.5 inches, exactly.  I win a prize of art supplies, which I can always use.  Wheeee.
