Acrylic on 140# paper.  It's nice and sunny today in Southern California, and I feel Spring in the air, so here is Mother Nature to bless the day with her kind and gentle visage.

She looks smug enough to be married to that other guy I posted a couple of days ago.  But I am sure she is rich and from a prominent family.  She would hate this painting.  She thinks of herself as much prettier and younger than she actually is.

Challenge on DPW and Day 19

Day 19 (She does have a face)
and my entry for the Daily Paint Works Challenge of the week.

Here is the picture we painted from.

I covered an 8.5 x 6 piece of 140# watercolor paper with Black Gesso and used Atelier Interactive Acrylics that I had received from Cheap Joe's online store.  I spend so much money there that they sent me Free Samples of the paints to try.  It worked.  I liked the effects I could achieve, so I will probably order more of them.  They only sent me 5 colors!

Day 18 - Happy President's Day

Day 18:  A Change of Face:  "Lost" 

There are only 28 days this month, so can it really be a 29 day challenge?  

I was bored with the bright colorful faces so this one went to Gouache.  That happens when a watercolor I am working on gets out of control and looks muddy or bad in some way.  I rarely if ever throw something away, even an ATC card, so here is the gouachey lady with the Mona Lisa Smile.  Very dreamy and pensive looking, with pretty white hair.  I kinda like her.

Tomorrow I go back to the bright colors and loose look.  I already have two more in the works.

"Good Bones" ACEO

Watercolor and liner work with ink.  I used less paint this time.  She has a very "clean" look and resembles some movie star, can't think who, but that was unintentional.   It's just a woman with pronounced facial features, or "Good Bones."

Day 11: 29 Faces

Day 11:  Devilish Delight, ACEO, Face/Portrait

"Devilish Delight" ACEO is a loose watercolor and pen sketch.  I like to do these with a bunch of washes first, then put in the inking.  I never know what is going to turn up.  She has a heart-shaped face but a slightly sneaky look.  Beware of this vixen.  She seems to have secrets and hidden agendas.
