PPF, Paint Party Friday, Painting Pigs again

Meet Pig Newton, A "Smooshy" pig I painted this week for Wendy
6x6 on wood panel using slow dry acrylics

And I have been painting rolodex cards and ATCs and Twinchies and then swapping them with a great group of friends on Facebook.  We play games like "Make Me Happy" and "Play It Forward" and "Traveling Journals" and "Hitchhiker" all of which are loads of fun.

Go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/ATCtravelingjournals/ and ask to join if you are interested.

PPF Paint Party Friday, New Piggy, Nestor

My Pet Pig Painting of the week for Paint Party Friday
Nestor, the pot bellied pig, lives at Ironwood Pig Sanctuary

He will go on sale next week after I figure out if the place where his chin meets his water dish needs more work.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I have  been working on this for a week, and I can't decide if it's done.

Thanks!

Paint Party Friday: Painting Pigs Again

Paint Party Friday:  Still Painting Pigs

It has officially become an obsession.  I started out painting one a week for auction on ebay to raise money for ironwoodpigsanctuary.org and then I painted two a week, and now I can't stop. Here is my latest.  If she doesn't sell she will also go to auction.  Gosh, that feels almost like going to slaughter!  Poor piggy!

Big Red: A sleeping Hog in Acrylic Pig Painting for PPF

Here is my Paint Party Friday PPF Painting

Here's "Big Red" weighing in at 1203 lbs.
6x6 Acrylic on wood

He is not actually one of the pigs from Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, but I liked his face and the colors in his coat, so he is my next one to auction off for charity on Ebay.  The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the suffering of pot bellied pigs in Arizona and surrounding states by promoting spaying and neutering, assisting owners and other sanctuaries, and providing a permanent home in a safe, nurturing environment for those that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or unwanted.  They are home to almost 600 pot bellied pigs.  Can you imagine how much a 1200 lb hog would eat?

Dapple and Sarah: Ironwood Pig Sanctuary Pigs

Penny Paints Pigs:

"Dapple and Sarah" are two of the beloved pigs living at The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the suffering of pot bellied pigs in Arizona and surrounding states by promoting spaying and neutering, assisting owners and other sanctuaries, and providing a permanent home in a safe, nurturing environment for those that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or unwanted.  They are home to almost 600 pot bellied pigs.

These are a couple of characters, for sure.  After spending time painting their picture, I feel as though I know their personalities.  This is really how they look.  Seriously.  They are smiling and clowning around.  Love those pigs.

This 5 x 7 whimsical acrylic painting is an original, not a print.  It is being sold to raise money for ironwoodpigsanctuary.org to help their cause.

95% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to their cause.
